The History of BBQ according to Peter

BBQ Bacon Productions started in 1999 in Los Gatos, CA. Our first production was the Variety Extravagance Festival (VEF), a three-episode sketch comedy show that aired from February through November 2000 on KCAT public access in Los Gatos.

Although little of the group's work in 2001 was under the BBQ Bacon name, we were all involved in two major projects for the year. First was CatSports, a weekly program showcasing Los Gatos High School sports. After a month as a studio highlight show, CatSports then became a live show covering wrestling, basketball and baseball matches.

The other major project was the 2001 Los Gatos High Senior Video. Working with Max Morse, a newbie to videography but an organizational guru, we spent most of the summer after graduation piecing together dozens of hours of footage to form a video yearbook for our senior class. If we had submitted that thing into a competition for video yearbooks, we would have won about 6,000 prizes.

With everyone going their separate directions for college, the group continued to collaborate on a feature-length movie, named Chuck and the Chair. After filming the majority of the movie over the summer of 2002, we are set to have the movie edited for a 2004 release.
